Oh it was SOOO exciting!!! [Dec. 8th, 2005|08:00 pm]
I put this tub of cocoa butter in the microwave to help it melt a little, and I didn't realize that there was still little bits of aluminum around the edge. I hit play and in about 5 seconds there was all kinds of lightning inside the microwave and a zzzzzz zapping noise. It was like a time machine landed there suddenly.
I had never actually seen what happens when you put metal in the microwave.

I used to get in trouble all the time for doing stuff "you're not supposed to do" growing up. At work when I was support Apple computers with you at Stream, I put a CD in one of the microwaves in the breakroom and turned it on for 3 minutes. I enjoyed the fireworks and so did a few other people that were in there laughing with me (that is until all the lights on that circuit went out ) LOL!

Heehee...whan my son was a toddler, he was fascinated with electronic devices (still is, come to think of it) and kept on fiddling with the mv. In an effort to show him the terrible things that could happen, I put an egg in it, thinking it would crack and the yoke would run out. What did transpire was the egg exploded, knocking out the lights and breaking the microwave. He said, "cool! Do it again!"
