Salsa Review - First in a Series [Nov. 6th, 2005|05:48 pm]

Clint's Texas Salsa - Hot

uses all the typical salsa ingredients*, but it really doesn't taste like anything special.
While hot indeed, it is lacking in any discernible taste.
It is fine for spicing up another food item that needs some zip, such as hummus on pita or scrambled eggs, but honestly, I don't know why I should dress a perfectly good tortilla chip with it.
The jar also warns us that it is "not available in New York City". Maybe he is afraid that the Yankees can make a better salsa.

I don't think I will buy this one again. Sorry Clint.

*tomatoes with tomato juice, salt, calcium chloride(?), citric acid, onions, serrano peppers, cilantro, garlic, salt, lemon juice, vinegar

Thank you for taking on this task, sister. And while pregnant, yet!

When I don't make my own salsa, I buy Ana's in the refrigerator section. Also, Fisher-Weiser makes a nice chipotle salsa.
