New York in November [Nov. 2nd, 2005|06:30 pm]
Najwa
Being from Texas, I have no idea how to shop for a warm winter coat.

What kind of coat is warm enough for November in New York City? Which is warmer, wool or down? Will I need a long coat?

Any other advise for traveling in the North in the Winter?

Keep in mind that I am a skinny Texas girl who gets very cold, very easy.

thanks!

I advice is to go to NY and buy one there. They will have 10 times the options and you can get one that will be just enough for NY and plenty warm for TX

That is good advice, except I can't trust in having the opportunity to go shopping while I am there. I will be completely on someone else's schedule.
:) Thanks.

I have a nice heavy coat you may borrow if you would like
it goes all the way down to your ankles and it has a hood

I would go with something synthetic (probably the most warm). Else, down would be a good option.

I would not wear wool. And I would also try to dress in layers.

Luckily, November is not tooooooo bad cold-wise.
